Spatiotemporal Relationships between Ecosystem Health and Urbanization on the Tibetan Plateau from a Coupling Coordination Perspective

A complex relationship exists between natural environmental and urban systems. This study focuses on the province of Qinghai, which is a major part Tibetan Plateau. For period 1995–2020, we explore relationships ecosystem health urbanization. We established an indicator system for urbanization quantitatively analyzed spatiotemporal pattern coupling coordination two. It shows that 1995 2020, level in Qinghai showed continuous upward trend, with index 2020 increasing by 147.20% compared to 1995. The also (EHI) value 3.31% degree increased year-on-year. Areas high basically overlapped areas urbanization, area gradually during period. Locations slightly unbalanced development were located periphery coupling-coordination areas, expanded years covered this study. low northwest southwest bounded Qinghai-Tibet Highway. These results can support evaluation Plateau high-altitude river source similar China elsewhere, contributing sustainable land use policy.
